Personal Background

I'm a native of North Carolina but moved away at fourteen, returned  in ‘86 when I was... older. While I was born in Raleigh, I was only there until 3rd grade when we moved to Cary. When I was here first, it was a small town of ~2,500 people and  now it's over 120,000 and ranked as one of America's best places to live. Funny... I knew that all along.

Kathie and I have been married over 32 years and we’ve raised three great kids into fine young adults - Joshua, Jennifer & Jacob. My greatest joy is time with Kathie, our kids and our cats - Snickers & Simba.

 

Other interests, hobbies and passions include:

- Blues, Gospel, and Rock music, sweet tea and BBQ-ing on the back deck

- Computers and the Internet... I’m a bona fide "geek that speaks"

- Writing… published articles on sales, marketing and motivation

- Public speaking... numerous speeches on numerous subjects

- Laughter… I live for the joy of making people laugh

 

Kathie and I share some strong mutual interests that include:

- Family… our kids are very important to us!

- First United Methodist Church - Cary & the Ellis-Bland Sunday School class I teach there

- The opportunities I occasionally get to lead worship services at my church
- The Worship Services I lead at the Woodland Terrace Retirement Center
- Paying it forward… helping others as we’ve been helped along the way
